SEO Blues Got You Down? The simple strategy that SEO Marketers Don’t Want You To Know

Focus on this and SEO will take care of itself

When I was a kid, one of my favourite musicals was Oliver.

I loved the songs and the choreography and I was probably the only girl in my drama class that wanted to play Fagin instead of Nancy when the scripts were handed out - let’s face it, he had the best lines.

Speaking of which ~

Do you remember that scene where Oliver asks for me food and the Magistrate shouts, “MORE!!!”?

Well, when it comes to SEO, there is one thing that Google wants more of - and, no, it’s not a plate of your Sunday Roast…

It’s your content.

Before we dive into why content is queen let's go over the basics ~

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation.

What Is It?

It’s the marketing strategies you use to help you organically rank higher on Google.

Organically means free. So, basically it's the free things you do to occupy the top spot.

And in this video, you'll learn how to do precisely that.

Content Is Queen

I know people say it’s KING but Nah! Content is queen.

The content you share with the world ~ your website copy, your blog, your podcast, video show, the Lives you do on IG and Facebook, the articles your post on LinkedIn, the free guides and downloads you create...

They are ALL part of the content you share with the world for your business.

And what you share publicly online is directly tied to how well you perform on Google.

So, if there’s only one key takeaway you get from this post, let it be this ~

Your content is queen. It's the most important thing you do as far as SEO is concerned.

Quality

You want to make sure that your content is, as The Artful Dodger in Oliver, says, “QUALITY”

It’s worth remembering that Google wants its users to have the best possible experience.

They want us to be happy customers so we keep using them.

Example:

So, when you search for something, like” eye cream” they make it their mission to find you the best possible results; images of the best eye creams on the market, the most popular brands, and the best blogs and YouTube channels showing you how to apply eye cream...

So create the best content you can ~

Make it helpful

Informative

Instructional

Entertaining

Educational

Inspiring

Motivating

Engaging

Whatever your goal is, do it to the best of your ability.

Because when you do Google will reward you for it.

Oh, and here’s a bonus to creating quality content ~

When you share stuff that people love, need and find value in they are more likely to share it and shareability is golden in the online world.

If you write a blog post and someone decides to share it, that improves your SEO.

The same is true if people download your podcast episode or share or embed your video on their website.

Think of the Internet as a giant spider web and every time you create a piece of content you create a new silvery strand in the web. The more you share the bigger the web becomes. The bigger the net the more likely you are to catch the eye of your dream customers.

Shout out your dream customers

And speaking of your DREAM CUSTOMERS, don’t be afraid to CALL THEM OUT.

Use words a.k.a. keywords that they will be searching for in your content.

Do this every time you share a piece of content.

I know you’ll feel like a broken record but it's worth repeating so Google gets the message.

Then they will position your website in front of the people who need you most.

Example:

So, if you’re a Chiropractor and you post on your blog once a week talking about different back conditions, the best positions to sit and sleep in to relieve back pain and gentle exercises to improve sciatic nerve issues, Google will get a very good idea about who you are and what you do.

Next time your ideal customer searches on ways to resolve her achy back, guess who they'll find.

Do this for long enough and your hard work will pay off .

OK ~ we’re bringing this home with the final two factors ~

We touched on Shareability earlier and this next point ties in quite nicely with that ~

Hyperlinks

Make sure you include links and references to other people’s work in your content.

Sometimes we forget that Social Media means to be “social” and sharing media content is a big part of that.

So, if you find a quote, a book, an expert or a perspective about a topic that is on brand and of relevance to your target audience, then mention it.

Using LINKS in your content will help your SEO significantly.

And FINALLY ~

Consistency

Make sure that you POST CONSISTENTLY and that your website is being updated on a regular basis.

This doesn’t mean rewriting your About Page every week. Your core website pages can remain unchanged.

However, your blog is the perfect place to do this.

Either write a post, share your podcast or embed your YouTube or Facebook videos on that page.

Find a frequency that works for you but the more you post on your website the better it will perform on Google.

Be Patient

This is not a quick-win strategy.

When you focus on creating quality content you are committing to playing the long game.

Your business is not a flash in the pan and neither should your SEO marketing strategy be.

Be patient and know that if you stay the course you will see results.

Don't let the SEO blues get you down. Focus on creating quality content for your target audience on a consistent basis and SEO will take care of itself

Alright, that’s it for today and...

Now I wanna hear from you ~

This video is packed with golden nuggets, which I love! I had not heard before about the effect of putting other peoples posts in your blog can have, so will def keep that in mind! Another great video 😀👍
